Types of Sidebars

Check this video tutorial about how to use sidebars, sidebar widgets and footer widget area in TheGem:

There are four major sidebars in TheGem, which could be used:

• Main Page Sidebar: this sidebar can be used for regular pages, single posts, portfolio pages and CPTs
• Page Builder Sidebars: additional sidebars, which can be used with page builders (WPBakery: "Widgetised Sidebar" element; Elementor: "Sidebar" widget) to add more than one sidebar on the page
• Footer Widget Area: this sidebar can be used for footer area of pages, posts etc.
• WooCommerce Sidebar: this sidebar can be used on WooCommerce pages - product archive pages, product pages.
• WooCommerce Bottom Area: this sidebar can be also used on WooCommerce pages and displays widgets under the main content area and before the footer area.

You can find these sidebars in "Appearance -> Widgets" section in your WordPress admin:

These sidebars can be used as:

• Default Sidebars: you can define default content (widgets) of the sidebars, which can be used across your website by simply activating the default sidebar. if you want, that a number of pages always use the same sidebar with the same widgets, you create a default sidebar.
• Customized Sidebars: you can add individual widgets to your page or footer sidebars on any page separately, so, that different pages have different sidebar content.
