What is TheGem Portfolio?

TheGem Portfolio is the custom post type. It consists of:

1. Portfolio Item

One portfolio item is like one page or one blog post – it is a single post used specially for representing your work, project, property, vehicle etc. Simply put, one portfolio item = portfolio page = one project. In what follows, we will use these synonyms.

2. Portfolio Category

Portfolio category is a taxonomy of “Portfolio” post type. Each portfolio item (project) can be assigned to one or multiple portfolio categories. Portfolio categories help to group/structure your projects.

So, basically TheGem Portfolio has the same approach as a blog (one portfolio item is like one single post; one portfolio category is like one blog category).
