Portfolio Page Specific Elements

As said above, you can add any content elements available in page builder to your content template. However, the mostly used elements are portfolio page specific elements like featured image, ptitle etc. which content is populated dynamically from the project data. Here we will describe briefly portfolio page specific elements.


Title

This element displays portfolio page title. You can adjust alignment and use different text style presets and adjust typography.


Excerpt/Short Description

This element shows portfolio page excerpt/short description. Excerpt/short description can be specified here:


With this element you can add featured image of the project

You can specify the size of the image, its alignment, choose between 12 image styles.


Project gallery element helps you to display the image gallery from the respective project/portfolio page. You can add images to the project gallery using the “Project Gallery” meta box while editing this portfolio item in WordPress dashboard:

You can select between different gallery types (grids, carousel) and adjust additional layout and style settings.

You can also use the “Gallery Grid” element to showcase the project gallery. After adding this content element to your portfolio page template the content source will be automatically set to “Project Gallery


Project Meta/Details

Тhis element helps you to add following meta elements in portfolio page template:

  • Portfolio Categories
  • Date
  • Likes
  • Project Details

Skin

TheGem has three pre-built customizable design skins for displaying project data

Layout

you can choose between horizontal and vertical layout types . and customize their look in the “Style” tab.

Additionally, this element can also display project details of the respective portfolio item. Using project details it is possible to add different type of additional content fields per project basis and personalize these fields with project individual values. You can learn more about “Project Details” in this chapter 

Using the repeater control it is possible to add multiple meta and project detailsFollowing settings can be made:

Field Type

  • Text: project details value will be displayed as plain text
  • Number: project details value will be displayed as number. In case “number” is selected, you can then specify, if you wish to use your WP Locale to automatically apply the respective number format (simply put: to apply the number format of your WordPress language version)

Prefix/Suffix

optionally specify prefix/suffix to display before or after the custom field’s value

Icon

optionally add icon to display

Label

show or hide the custom field’s label

Label Text

add custom label text

Link

add link to the custom field’s value


Adds the “prev”, “next” portfolio navigation to the portfolio page template. You can specify alignment, labels, post titles, arrows etc.


Content

This element adds project’s content to the portfolio page template.


Adds portfolio breadcrumbs to the portfolio page template.


To add related projects to your portfolio page template you can use following content elements:

  • Portfolio Grid
  • Portfolio List
  • Portfolio Slider

After adding any of this content elements to your portfolio page template, the source selection will be automatically set to “Related”. You can then specify the taxonomy in the “Related by” field.


Custom Fields / ACF/ Toolset

Similar to project details: Using custom fields it is possible to add different type of content fields per post/page basis and personalize these fields with post/page individual values. TheGem comes with its own custom fields feature and is compatible with ACF (advanced custom fields) and Toolset plugins.

Using the “Custom Fields” content element you can display the current project custom fields.

Dynamic Tags (Elementor)

Dynamic Tags help you to display customized data based on various sources in any content widget. For example you can display the portfolio page title using “Animated Heading” widget. Or you can show project’s featured image as a section/column background.
