How to Create a Loop Item Template?

To create new loop item template, follow this steps:

1

Go to  “TheGem → Templates Builder” in the admin dashboard menu of your WordPress installation

2

Select   "Loop Item" tab

3

Click on  “Add new”

4

Popup will open. In this popup you can specify the name of your template and click on “Create template”.

By clicking on “Create template” button the page builder starts loading. After that you can begin with creating your new loop item template by adding the content elements – exactly in the same way as you usually do by creating/editing pages and posts. In the page builder you will see the “Loop Item Builder” group of content elements – these are the loop item specific content elements.

Preview Settings

By default, in editor, the loop item template will display the content of the last added blog post. This post serves as a reference and demo for showing you how your template will look like. You can change this reference post to any other post by following this steps:

Elementor

  • Go to Settings and open Preview Settings

  • In "Preview Dynamic Content as" choose the post type of your preview post and in "Select Post" search and select your desired post for loop item preview

  • Click on "Apply & Preview" button to apply the preview settings to your loop item template
  • Additionally, using the "Width" setting you can specify the preview width of your loop item template

In this way you can create custom loop item designs for posts of any post types in an easy and visual way by previewing the end result directly in the editor.

WPBakery

For TheGem WPBakery theme version, you can select the preview post and adjust its width directly in WPBakery using the options provided in the top bar:

  • In "Post Type" you can choose the post type of your preview post
  • In "Post" you can select your desired post for loop item preview
  • Additionally, using the "Width" setting you can specify the preview width of your loop item template
  • Click on "Apply" button to apply the preview settings to your loop item template
