Is there a way to save existing page as a template?

i.e. say you created a portfolio item/page content, and wanted to instead save it as a portfolio page template in TheGem templates builder, is there a way I can do that?

Sure, you can do it via TheGem Blocks plugin:

WPBakery

  1. While editing the page/post in WPBakery, click on "TheGem Blocks" button:

  2. Switch to "Saved Templates" and specify the name of your content template and click on "Save Template":

  3. Close this page and go to TheGem Templates Builder
  4. Assume you wish to use the saved content template as layout basis for your portfolio item template. In this case go to "Portfolio Page" in templates builder and click on "Add new" -> "Create Template"

  5. While editing this portfolio template in WPBakery, click on "TheGem Blocks" button:

  6. Switch to "Saved Templates" and click on "+" to insert your saved content template:

Elementor

  1. While editing the page/post in Elementor, click on "Save Options" in Elementor editing panel and choose "Save as Template":

  2. Specify the name of your content template and click "Save":

  3. Close this page and go to TheGem Templates Builder
  4. Assume you wish to use the saved content template as layout basis for your portfolio item template. In this case go to "Portfolio Page" in templates builder and click on "Add new" -> "Create Template"

  5. While editing this portfolio template in Elementor, click on "Add Template" button:

  6. Switch to "My Template", find your saved content template and click on "Insert":
